Privacy Policy

Harrogate Taxi is a hackney carriage service licensed by North Yorkshire Council. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. For any question about it, email harrogatetaxi@gmail.com or call +44 7835 155044.

When you book, or start to book, through this website we collect:

• your name, phone number and email address
• your pickup and drop-off addresses, journey date and time, number of passengers, flight details and any notes you add
• the fare quoted for your journey and the status of your booking

If you call or email us instead, we collect the same details from that conversation. We do not collect payment card details, because you pay your driver on the day.

• To carry out your booking. We use your details to confirm the job, contact you about it, send your confirmation and cancellation emails, and send a reminder before an airport transfer. This is necessary to provide the service you asked for.
• To follow up unfinished bookings. If you enter your details and a quote on the airport form but do not finish, we may save them so we can contact you about the journey. This is in our legitimate interest in helping people who were about to book. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
• To keep records and meet our legal duties, including licensing and accounting.
• To understand how the site is used and keep it secure, using anonymous statistics and basic abuse protection.

We do not sell your information and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

We use a small number of providers to run the service. They only handle your information on our behalf:

• Supabase stores booking records in our database.
• Resend sends our booking emails.
• Vercel hosts this website and provides cookie-free visitor statistics.
• Google provides the maps, address search and distance calculations used for quotes, and the reviews shown on the site. Addresses you type are sent to Google for this.
• Upstash helps us limit abuse of the booking forms and sees your IP address for that purpose.

Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. We may also share information if the law or the licensing authority requires it.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. After you complete a booking, your name, phone number and email address are saved in your own browser so the form can be pre-filled next time. They stay on your device and you can remove them by clearing your browser's site data. Google Maps may set its own cookies or similar technologies when the map loads, under Google's own policies.

We keep booking records for as long as we need them for the journey, customer service and our accounting and licensing obligations, which is normally up to six years. We do not keep unfinished enquiries longer than we need to, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time.

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

• give you a copy of the information we hold about you
• correct anything that is wrong
• delete your information, where we are not required to keep it
• restrict or stop how we use it, including objecting to follow-up contact

Email harrogatetaxi@gmail.comand we will reply within one month. If you are not happy with how we handle your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
