Which terminal?
This is the most important thing to get right at Heathrow. Drop-off at the wrong terminal means a lengthy transit. Always confirm your terminal from your airline's booking confirmation.
Terminal 2 — The Queen's Terminal
Star Alliance
Central terminal area. Arrivals at ground level, departures above. Easy road access from the M4 central area exit. Connected to T3 by the free Heathrow Connect inter-terminal transit.

Terminal 3 — International
Oneworld (non-BA) + independents
Also in the central terminal area, adjacent to T2. Shares some ground transport facilities with T2. Taxi pickup from the dedicated T3 forecourt.

Terminal 4 — South
Specific carriers
South of the airport, away from the central terminal area. Access via the Southern Perimeter Road. Allow extra transit time if connecting between T4 and other terminals.

Terminal 5 — British Airways
British Airways + Iberia
West of the airport on the M25 side. Purpose-built for BA. Has two satellite buildings (T5B and T5C) connected by an automated transit. The taxi drop-off and pickup are on the T5 forecourt.
